Why Tuesday is asked for first
Mangalwar belongs to Mars in the week used by this tradition. Families who have been told to pacify Mangal choose that day because the worship and the weekday name the same graha. Tuesday by itself does not change the dakshina. The vidhi and the names do. The amount is said on WhatsApp, not on this page.
A Tuesday that is also a festival, or that falls in a crowded Simhastha period, should be booked earlier. The muhurat is a time inside the morning, not a hope that the queue will part.
Other days, and Bhaumvati Amavasya
If you cannot travel on Tuesday, say so. The sankalp is still taken on the morning we set. The tradition does not treat every other day as empty. It treats Tuesday as the first choice.
Bhaumvati Amavasya is the amavasya associated with Mangal, and families who can choose their month often ask for it. It is busier. Message before you book trains. We do not print a fixed clock for that morning, because festival timings move.
Morning, not a printed timetable
Visitors find the road easier early. Parking is usually in front of the temple, and holidays fill it. A booked puja is placed in the morning window so the sankalp is not rushed against the darshan crowd.
We do not publish aarti times that would be wrong on the day you arrive. Call or use Contact Us on WhatsApp and the muhurat is set for the day you are actually coming.
How the muhurat is fixed
You send the puja, the names, and a preferred date. The pandit confirms the morning and the dakshina. You travel only after that confirmation. If you are already in Ujjain, still message before you leave Mahakaleshwar. The ride is short, commonly described as about 6 km, and it is long enough to miss a muhurat if nobody is expecting you.
Reach a little before the time you were given. The name and gotra are read at the start. A late arrival squeezes the vidhi.
