Mangal Nath Bhat Pooja is the anushthan people ask for when a kundli has been read as Manglik, or when a marriage has been waiting. The words are spoken apart — Mangal Nath — because that is how the temple’s name is said in Hindi. Written together, it is Mangalnath. Bhat, bhaat, and bhat pooja are the same offering: cooked rice, given to Mangal on this ground.
The temple stands on the Shipra in Ujjain and is regarded as the birthplace of Mars. The Puranas call Mangal the son of Earth. Families have come here for the bhat anushthan for generations precisely because the tradition places his birth on this bank, not because a listing on the internet gave the puja that name.
